The Verilux® TwiLight™ Blue Light Therapy System brings the same natural, drug-free therapy NASA developed to regulate sleep patterns and increase individual energy levels and productivity. The 460nm blue spectrum light signals the body to stop the production of melatonin, depending on where you are in your sleep cycle. Melatonin, a natural human hormone, synchronizes and regulates the body's circadian rhythms and can have beneficial effects for addressing certian types of insomnia. Use the Twilight for up to 30 mintues per day to help align your body's clock for more energized days and restful nights. There should be no  blue light in the environment after using the TwiLight™ at night for 30 minutes, 2 hours before bedtime. That means no TV, no computer, no compact fluorescents - only yellow incandescent bulbs or candles.

• Turn on the TwiLight™ Blue Light Therapy System for 30 minutes and the blue light will help retard the production of pineal melatonin.
• For older people, this allows them to be more alert into the evening hours, and experience a more restful sleep when the body does produce melatonin later in the sleep cycle. 
• Teens and young adults find themselves better able to function at school and work after they have used the TwiLight™ right after rising in the morning, as it turns off the production of melatonin.

Special note: Researchers have found limited evidence that bright and blue light therapy may cause additional harm to people with pre-existing eye damage (including glaucoma and macular degeneration), and could increase the incidence of age related blindness.
